Start a Club
Starting a club is a powerful way to bring prayer, encouragement, and community support to the next generation. Here’s a clear, step-by-step strategy to launch a J-Walker movement at your local school:
Pray & Prepare
Seek God’s direction for your community and school. Begin walking the campus regularly and praying silently for students, teachers, and families.
Write a personal mission statement outlining your purpose: to be a “Jesus Walker” who intercedes and serves students through prayer and presence.
Get Permission &
Build Trust
Meet with school administrators (principal, vice-principal) to share your heart and intent. Explain the purpose of the ministry: to bless the students through presence, positivity, and optional gatherings—never pressure.
Follow local guidelines for school visitors, background checks, or required permissions.
Start With
A Presence
Walk the school grounds regularly (before or after school hours) while quietly praying. Smile and greet students and parents. Let your consistency build recognition.
Be friendly, not forceful. Relationships grow best through trust and presence, not persuasion.
Engage
The Students
When students begin interacting with you, share your story: “I’m a J-Walker—a Jesus Walker! I walk and pray for you every day.”
Consider giving out invites to a free donut or snack meet-up before school (at a local donut shop, café, or approved space).
Launch the First
J-Walker Gathering
Jesus, make this campus one—across grades, groups, and backgrounds. Break down walls of division, bullying, racism, and cliques. Replace hate with love and isolation with community. May students walk in unity and love as You prayed in John 17. Amen.
Establish a
Weekly Rhythm
Set a weekly meeting time (e.g., Thursday mornings at 7:15 AM).
Offer short devotionals, encouraging stories, and a chance for kids to share or ask for prayer.
Celebrate small wins, answer questions, and make space for connection.
Involve the
Community
Invite other trusted adults (with school approval) to help as volunteer J-Walkers.
Reach out to local churches or businesses to sponsor donuts, pizza days, or supplies.
Multiply
The Movement
Create simple flyers, bracelets, or T-shirts that say “I’m a J-Walker” to build identity.
Train student leaders to start their own J-Walker meet-ups or prayer walks at other schools.
Encourage kids to be prayerful, kind, and aware of those around them. Teach them to walk with Jesus wherever they go.
Stay Consistent &
Spirit-Led
Your consistency is the key to trust and transformation.
Always be respectful of school policies, spirit-led in your actions, and gentle in your approach.
Let the fruit of your walk—love, joy, peace—speak louder than your words.
